Calming Costal Walk

beckyharvey23

I hope you all had a lovely Easter Weekend. Saturday evening, I decided I wanted to go out with my camera on Sunday, and the location had to be a beach. I googled quiet beaches near me, and in the results was Hill Beach Fareham, it looked like a lovely beach, and the reviews were good; I decided this was going to be my Sunday Adventure.

Sunday Morning arrived; I left at 8 am as it was a two-hour drive, the traffic was quiet, and I reached my destination just before 10 am. I parked at a car park called Thatchers Copse Car Park. This Car Park is free but little.

I saw a track and decided I would head down the path, following other people, hoping it would lead to the beach.

There are plenty of birds to photograph if they decide to play, but they were not playing for me.

I continued down the track and continued along another trail by the side of the field.

The views were Stunning.

I couldn't resist playing for a little bit.

Then I could see the Sea, so I was heading in the right direction, but I also had a bit of doubt if I wasn't, as I know how good I am at getting lost.

I continued on my way, carrying on playing as I went.

Then I made it to the beach. There was a little pool, which the dogs loved to swim in.

I found a slight bank to sit on to have something to eat and took in the sea, watching, enjoying the calmness and taking a few photos.

After my rest, I started walking along the beach to head towards the clifftop, as it was a stony beach that made it hard to walk.

After taking the above photos, I finally reached the clifftop and started to walk. I met a local who told me about the Sailing Club and Harbor, a lovely walk. So I took his advice and decided I would walk there.

The views from the clifftop were breathtaking.

I took the path to the right and continued along the way downhill, came to beach huts and saw the Sailing Club and Harbour.

As I walked past the beach huts, I came to a car park, and the sign said Meon Beach, this car park is pay and display, which is worth remembering for future reference.

I walked between the cars and the wall as the path on the other side was by the sea, and the waves were pretty rough, so I didn't fancy getting wet (there are benches to sit on if you need a breather too).

I couldn't believe how much activity was going on.

I then captured the sequence of a sailing boat capsizing and the crew getting it back upright again, which was interesting.

After spending time watching this, I walked to the harbour.

I went around to the other side and was amazed to see these birds.

The ducks and Seagulls were getting in the action too.

Further along, there was a beach and more beach huts, which I will explore next time.

As I was heading back, people were feeding the swans.

On the other side, there was a nature reserve, which you have to pay to enter, so it's on the list to explore next time, and there is an information board showing a walk and the history of Titchfield Canal.

I walked back up to the top of the clifftop and then went a different route to the car park, only playing a little bit as I was getting tired.

Along the route was a muddy patch, and there wasn't a nice gap to walk around it. I didn't fancy getting muddy or slipping. I climbed over the sheep wire fence and walked along the edge of the field, where I saw a gap. I tripped over the wire on the floor (I didn't look in the grass, which I should have as I went flying), my lens took the impact along with my knee, which I grazed, but I was more concerned about my camera. The moral of the story is that I would end up on the ground at some point.

I made it back to my car, put a plaster on my knee, and looked at my camera, my telephoto lens wasn't going in and out, but my camera was alright. I put the camera and lens back in my bag, and when I got home, my lens was working correctly again, which was a relief.

I cannot wait to go back and visit to explore the other walks and routes.
