Last Friday, in my bright wisdom, I decided to walk along the Canal from Bradford-on-Avon to Bath.
I walked to Chippenham Train Station to catch the train to Bath (connection train which I didn't realise to start with, so I missed one train from Chippenham to Bath, lol) and then the train from Bath to Bradford-on Avon.
Bradford-on-Avon to Bath doesn't seem too far from the train, but how wrong was I? My fitness level wasn't up to standard for that walk, but I did have a lovely time.
As I got off the train, I had to remember how to find my way to the canal, which I did and hoped I was heading in the right direction. I spotted these as I started walking along the canal.
as I followed the towpath, the lonely female duck was making a racket

Then I started to see the Canal community.
met this little family
I then arrived at Avoncliff Aqueduct, the only one with a railway station.
I saw a sign for Dundas and headed in that direction, still not sure I was heading in the right direction to Bath.
As I followed the track for quite a while, I came across a bridge which I went to the top to take in the breathtaking views.
After taking in the views, I walked back down and headed towards Dundas, seeing this on the way.
Then I got mesmerised by Herron.
After watching Herron, I continued walking and arrived at Dundas, where I had a little pause as I was getting tired.
After my little break, I carried on along the towpath, heading towards Claverton and Bathampton, only taking a few photos as I was exhausted; my feet were hurting, so I decided I would catch the bus home at Batheaston. I didn't realise how far it was to walk. It was a lovely beautiful walk, but I would do it in two halves next time.
I am looking forward to going the canal from Bathampton to Claverton to explore the pumps and church.
