"Pumping Station"

beckyharvey23

Life is so busy at the moment, but I am managing to still go out with my camera, even though it is taking me a little while to edit them and write my blog.

On 16th June, I decided I would catch the Bus to Batheaston; instead of doing my usual route along the Canal from Bathampton to Bath, I decided I would do Bathampton to Claverton.

As I got off the bus at Batheaston, I decided to explore the Secret Garden and river before starting my walk.

After exploring this patch, I walked along the cycle path, mesmerised by the butterflies and birds.

Then arrived at the towpath, where the ducks were by the pub for lunch.

and the crow was having a whale of time having a bath to keep cool

I started walking, taking in the Canal and my love of Barges.

Then I was greeted by this gorgeous cat, which I stroked for a few minutes. The cat was so friendly and loving.

after sharing the precious moment with the lovely cat, I carried on taking in the views

I got to the junction where it signed posted for Claverton Pumping station and the Church; I came off the towpath and walked down the hill towards the pumping station, crossed the railway, and there was this beautiful building.

Claverton Pumping Station. The building is open at certain times of the year, which you can explore. It's still in its original 200-year-old working condition. If you want to read the fascinating history of this building, please see Claverton Pumping Station | Canal & River Trust (canalrivertrust.org.uk).

Next to the Pumping Station is Warleigh Weir, where people enjoy bathing and paddling in the weir. It was tempting as it was hot, but as I had my camera, I decided not to, but maybe next time.

I turned around and went back up the hill looking for St Mary's Church, taking in the views.

I crossed the road, walked along the public footpath behind the bus stop, and came across this beautiful building.

Then I found the Church, which has a fascinating history.

To read about the history, visit Claverton, Somerset - Wikipedia.

I also took the opportunity to do a Panorama of the Church.

As I left the Church and headed back to the Canal, I ran out of drink and bumped into a lovely lady who kindly offered me a can of coke. I was thankful for her kindness.

Once I got back on the Canal to walk back to Bathampton, I decided to concentrate on the bugs/insect.

Then I met these gentlemen who were willing to have their photo taken.

I arrived back at the pub in Bathampton, where the Swan Family enjoyed the food given to them.

I then returned to the cycle track in Batheaston and saw the farmer making hay.

And another farmer checking on their sheep gave me the perfect opportunity to practice my action photography.

After spending a lot of time with the sheep, I got to the bus stop and caught the bus home after enjoying my lovely afternoon adventure.
