This week has been crazy. I have started a new job, a new career change, which I am loving. It's been a whirlwind but a lovely whirlwind, which is why it's taking me now to edit my photos from Tuesday's Outing to Slimbridge, meeting up with my friend Megan.
When I arrived, I went inside and waited for Megan by the first island (I have no idea what to call it, lol🤣🤣). There was a lot of entertainment going on. A Seagull was trying to grab food from a lady at one stage, so my camera came in handy to chase it off.
When Megan arrived, we hung about there for a bit and then went off exploring the other hides (which I don't know the names of, next time, I need to take a journal to write the hide names down and what I am photographing).
It was lovely to have a photography buddy, talking about photography and the birds etc.
We had no plan, so we just went to the hides and islands as we came across them; here are some photos of the following two.
The next hide was the Whistling Ducks, the first time I had to see them, and the noise they make is adorable and funny.
Once we had our fun here, we carried on walking and chatting to the next hide, and our fellow photographers who were already there were telling us what to spot, which was kind of them.
We then went to the other side of the Wetlands, and we just timed it right as the keepers started to give them their food. The Moorhen was clever, though and getting his food from the wheelbarrow.

This one and its mate were reluctant to get in the water to swim over for the food but eventually decided they would have to.

We went onto the next one, following the keepers and laughing as we could hear the geese up to no good. Whether we were, we either heard them or landed near us, which we found amusing as they are always up to no interest and crying for attention.
And these decided they wanted to entertain us.

After the entertainment finished, we walked around another island but didn't take any photos, then we went to the hides towards the exit, but we couldn't do the tower as it was 4 pm and they were closing the gate.
As time was getting on and it was nearly hometime, we decided it was the right time to leave this hide, but we spotted one more and decided we would have a sneaky peek before we went home.
We didn't want to go home as the light was perfect and lots were happening, but I look forward to our next adventure.
